She works with adolescents and adults to provide psychotherapy that is tailored to each client's unique needs. Dr. Guides provides a compassionate and supportive environment to develop a strong therapeutic relationship with her clients. Her therapeutic approach incorporates cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and insight-oriented methods to provide practical, goal-oriented strategies with a
deeper exploration of underlying thoughts, emotions and behaviors. This approach allows clients to develop tools to
manage symptoms while also fostering greater self-awareness and understanding of one's inner world.

Dr. Guides has extensive experience working with clients to address a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression,
eating disorders and relationship issues. She collaborates with other treating professionals to provide her
clients with the best possible care.

PSYCHOEDUCATIONAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATIONS
Dr. Guides offers Psychoeducational and Psychological Evaluations to children, adolescents and adults.
She has expertise in the assessment and diagnosis of learning disabilities, such as Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism
Spectrum Disorder, and psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders.

Psychoeducational evaluations are pursued for various reasons, including the diagnosis of learning disabilities and ADHD,
determination of eligibility for special education services, monitoring of academic progress, identification of emotional
issues impacting academic performance, and to obtain accommodations in school and on standardized
assessments (e.g., SAT, ACT, GRE & LSAT).

Psychological evaluations are also sought for a variety of reasons, including
a desire to better understand social-emotional issues and diagnosis psychological disorders.

Evaluations include a clinical interview, review of records, observation of behavior, behavior rating scales, and a battery of standardized tests. These tests assess intellectual functioning, academic skills (reading, writing and math), attention, executive functioning,
learning and memory, language, visual-spatial skills, and social-emotional functioning.

INTELLIGENCE (IQ) TESTING
In addition to comprehensive evaluations, Dr. Guides offers assessments of intellectual functioning with the WISC-V, WPPSI-IV and SB5. These evaluations are often pursued for private school admission purposes or determination of the need for gifted services in public school.
